Hair photography is one of those things that sounds simple until you actually try to photograph it properly.

 

It’s not just a case of “stand there and let me take a picture of your hair.” 

 

Good hair photography is about showing off the work that went into creating the style — the texture, shape, colour, detail and movement, while making the finished image look bloody good.

 

I like working closely with the stylist to understand what they’re trying to achieve and, more importantly, what they want people to notice. Whether it’s a dramatic editorial style, a salon portfolio, competition work or just a really cool creative idea, we’ll work together to make sure the photography does the hair justice.

 

Lighting is obviously a big part of that, but so are the little things; positioning, movement, angles and making sure every strand is doing what it’s supposed to be doing.
